On February that still missing today is the day though! winter sun and almost 10 ° C. ..
is not easy to find an alternate route for many kilometers, or do the coastal road running alongside cars whizzing at high speeds, or take your car and walk on the plateau: improved air and nature!
The idea is, however, leave home, and a shortcut (thanks Andrea!) Maybe I can combine into a single output Barcola & Plateau for a very long view. Long to tackle alone, so the pace will be only mine, and since they are "free" to stop at will, I bring the little compact that you enter in the door drinking bottle instead of water fountains along the way there.
From home I headed to Barcola ground and after 8.2 km above sea level just before Grignano played right into the train station in Miramar. Behind the binary starts a path leading to the pond to Contovello Prosecco and after 15 minutes and 1.5 I find myself at 252 meters above sea level! The Nature Trail ends at Contovello pond, with benches and ducks, but now it is time to take a break ...



Meanwhile the day, which initially appeared to be sunny and serene, now veiled and even pulls some air ... retraced my steps and then take the path that brings me back to sea level. I must say that the steps uneven and covered with wet leaves and moss are much more reassuring on that down:-S
traces the coast of Barcola and, after a few kilometers (around 25th) beginning to acknowledge the principles of calf cramps: certainly pay the few outlets in recent weeks and the lack of training: sometimes walking, I stop to do some stretching and get some relief in the legs. Ready or not, the idea took shape after listening to David and the appointment is launched soon: Sunday morning at the crossing point at 9am Pese we are: Agnes, Antonio, David, Andrea and Stefano foot bike! A few kilometers drive up to Hrpelje (SLO) 500 m above sea level and partly in light and steady climb to reach a height of 1,028 m to the summit of Mount Taiano.
The only conspicuous by his absence in this beautiful Sunday in sport is the sun that the week before is just a memory, even though the weather that threatened rain did not materialize, except for a few minutes near the beginning of the climb. To get to the top (our goal is serving the strudel to the shelter:-P) it takes a little over 9 miles. The slope is gentle and allows you to get talking. The sky is gray, not really cold at the start while in the last few miles, things change significantly: when we leave the path in the undergrowth there is a clearing in the wind here and it feels all right, as if this were not enough peeps too dense fog that envelops us and give us a reduced visibility to a few meters.
Other than a 360 ° view from the Adriatic Aplio ... As we warmed up with a sweet tea and enjoy the area, chat heat we decided not to repeat the same path for the return, but to close a loop that will take us back to 'drive through Podgorje: so far the steepest descent (in 5 km altitude starting to come back:-S), a little undulating route to the base of the mountain, with a view that is coming to Croatia, a few hundred yards from us, so even a small tear up and the work is finished.
Once the car and the greetings in my heart I promise to come back here as soon as possible to get the colors and the sight of a nature which today has modestly kept itself all its glory ...

The splendor of the prototype BMW R7, single copy made in 1934 by architect Alfred Böning is so simple and pure breath-taking. His vision differed markedly from the usual stylistic ideas in vogue in the '30s in terms of motorcycles. The Morning Running definitely not be recovered! The sun shines high in the sky and the twelve degrees to really invite the outdoors and running ... time taking advantage lunch time to recover and settle the score with a run
a few weeks ago: How do I get on top of a "vantage point" and not see the view because fog ?!?!?
The start of today is that of many races, the parking lot of Forest Basovizza, but after just over a mile on the usual circuit dimmer switch to the strata paved road that goes to the former state border of the Casino Lipica and back around to Right: here begins the climb dirt road that climbs to the summit of Mount Cocusso. The climb is quite steep than the slope that rises from Pese this is more rough and quick: after first arriving at the better or not?
There are very many people who face the ascent on foot, or who now are already back, the road is almost entirely in the undergrowth, broad and well marked but shady: get to the top is indescribable, for a while I can not keep eyes wide open, are drenched in sunshine :-) at the top is the world, many families have picnics on the grass and the shelter is packed: a really nice way to enjoy Sunday. Rest a little sun, then look for the road from where we had come with David the last time to try the view from the summit of Mount Italian (but here I sin in the sense of orientation, and will not:-S) and so I start walking again in my footsteps, retracing the route in reverse.
A feeling of fulfillment when I return to the "usual" circuit (below) and then close back to the car, pay for the full sun and a fantastic view I still see ...
